Aussie Fundraiser - Outdoor Pilates Come join me (Sasha from Hoi) for an outdoor pilates class to support our Aussie friends. This is for a very serious cause but the event will be 100% non-serious pilates. A 50-minute full-body workout designed to bring joy and leave you feeling fantastic. Emphasis on lifting each other up. No experience necessary! Empathy overload and the feeling of helplessness is real. I know I'm not alone in feeling this. We can help combat this feeling by moving together, and doing something good for ourselves while raising money to help our neighbours. Partaking in things that are normal and pleasurable are crucial to help us fill our cups so we can keep engaged with the world. I have personally donated but it doesn't feel like enough. I would love to see what else we can do as a community, and know from experience I can definitely facilitate some joy and optimism through movement. Donations of any size are strongly encouraged, however, if you aren't in a position to donate, please still feel welcome to come and show your support by moving with us! All proceeds/donations will go to wildlife rehab & support and communities in need of assistance in rebuilding their lives after the fires. I have some ideas of the organisations I would like to support but happy to accept suggestions! After we calculate donations, Hoi will either match or contribute a percentage of the total donations. (I say that only as a disclaimer in the hopes that my dream comes true and this thing freaking takes off and hundreds of people show up) THE DETAILS / SUNDAY 9am at Miramar Park on Darlington road. BYO mat/towel, it's on the grass so not necessary. Bring water. Family friendly! Rain or shine I'll be there. -- Hoi Studio

Community News update 14 January 2020 Watermain Renewal Awa Road and Marine Parade, Seatoun Dear Resident/Business Owner, Since 20 September 2019, Wellington Water has been replacing a watermain pipe at Awa Road and Marine Parade, Seatoun. The new pipe has been laid, but is yet to be fully commissioned and connected to the existing network. This final work was originally planned for the end of January/early February 2020. However, due to emergency repairs on the central sewer network, this stage of construction has been delayed. The contractor for this watermain renewal work, E.N. Ramsbottom, is required to undertake the emergency wastewater repairs in the central sewer network. The final construction works for Marine Parade is now planned to occur over 2-3 weeks in March/April 2020. The remaining construction work will largely be undertaken within the road reserve at Awa Road and Marine Parade. Remaining construction on the watermain requires using heavy machinery, such as excavators and concrete saws. There will be some noise with this work, however every effort will be made to reduce noise and disruption. Notice will also be given at least 24 hours’ in advance before water shutoff for construction works. If you have any questions about this project, please contact: Contractor: E.N. Ramsbottom, Site Manager, Michelle Hoffmann, 04 499 1607 or 027 471 6246 Project Manager: Stantec, David McDonald, 04 381 5751 After hours, please call the Wellington City Council Call Centre at 04 499 4444. Yours faithfully Alexander van Paassen
