Local Miramar Residents Sarah and Jacob Bullock are co-owners of the Miramar Eatery "The Larder"
In a converted cottage on a suburban corner street, The Larder is a humble presence, much like a Cinderella in waiting, as the real beauty is in the food served on fresh white plates. Brown is known for his dynamic, creative menus championing seasonal produce, and for serving up every part of the animal. His recent Wellington on a Plate burger combined grilled kangaroo served in a homemade wattle-seed bun, while his sell-out Cardiac Cuisine event saw him serve up elk heart, lamb heart, ox heart, chicken heart, artichoke heart and more. "We sell more offal here than I ever have in my life. We sell things like sea urchin icecream. Kiwis are so adventurous," says Brown.
The owner of Tulsi Monty Ptel has come a long way since arriving in Wellington in 1986 to work in his brothers dairy in Willis Street, Monty left there soon after to pen his own superette in Cuba Street
In 1999 he opened his first Indian restaurant in Cuba Street
Tulsi has been voted the best Restaurant in Wellington and the best butter chicken many times.
